LOVE FOR THE PROPHET THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD ON THE 1443TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS BIRTH

The human soul is shaped by the endless love for the spiritual world of creation, as embodied in Muhammad and elegantly put into words by Pertevniyal Sultan: "Discourse created Muhammad/ And what's discourse without Muhammad?" The result of an endless love, the prophet himself is a means for creation.

This love for the spiritual, and in turn Muhammed the Prophet, has shaped the history of Turkey, its culture, and civilization on every level. Our artistic and aesthetic notion, our perception of elegance and beauty, our cities and their architecture, our literature, with its poetry and religious poems, our music with its odes and chants are all tangible reflections of this endless love. Fuzûlî interpreted the shaping of Anatolia with the love for Muhammad.

The section “The wild river flows from stone to stone" from his famous Water Eulogy is an allegory for the wild dash of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, in a bid to reach the holy grounds walked upon by the Prophet.
